Its been awhile.

Sorry I haven't updated in awhile! I have been busy with school stuff. Taking my placement exams and what not for college. I am happy to say I have gotten two sales so far! Happy it has been so fast after creating my shop on etsy. :) Thank you all who look(:

My boyfriends mom bought me a small sketchbook so I've been drawing all of my designs for my fall '10 line inside. Still busy putting it all together. I've also been making new items for the summer'10 line. Those will be posted some time tonight. (:

The richmond craft mafia

hello lovelies. (: So tonight is a special night.Going to go to a richmond craft mafia meet and introduce myself to all of the members! (: Boyfriends mom asked me to join her as she has an old student of hers that is in the group.I feel so unprepared though.I wasn't able to get my business cards like i had planned. But word of mouth is just as good.

Hopefully I get a few more sales and some connections with the richmond craft community. (:

Giving.

Hello all. (: So on my trip to Michael's arts and crafts for more goodies,I met a older woman who worked there. She was probably the sweetest employee there that I've met. She showed me all of the clearance items that she was putting up and we started talking.She told me that the anniversary of her husbands death was in two weeks.He had life insurance but it only covered accidental death. ( He died of a heart attack 2 hours after they arrived home from celebrating their anniversary.) She now works 3 jobs to support herself and pay bills. Of course after hearing this story,I told her I had a business online selling jewelry.

Thats when I got the idea to make her a necklace with some encouraging words. The lord was really watching over her after her husbands death.She was given over $1,350 by an unknown person.I found a cute "faith" pendant as well as a blue crystal pendant and yet another cute word pendant that reads "strength." I believe that any person who can go through that much and who works as hard as she does deserves at least a necklace.

So my plan? I have put together a cute necklace I think she will love to signify all of the things she has been through.To never stop having faith and to let her know how strong she is to have gone through that and work three jobs to support herself. I plan on giving her this on Sunday. ( As she told me she works at the Walmart near me that day.) I'll get back to you all and tell you her reaction. (:

Hello! I am Brooke (: I am almost twenty years old and have been crafting since I was five.I've always been interested in anything art.It is a big part of my life.I can be found with a couple of pens and a notebook for whenever I get an idea for a new piece of jewelry. I know its not the best idea when you're driving down a street while drawing up an idea for a new necklace,but it sometimes just happens to me that way. (:

I draw a lot of my inspiration from nature. Flowers,birds,the trees and whatever else is eye catching.I try to create things I would wear.I go for the every day whimsical look with a little bit of vintage and indie mixed in.

i have had my first customer! (: Thank you all for looking at my jewelry! This has been a wonderful day inside. :] I got to meet so many amazing people and start this new addiction.lol. My hubby goes back to work tomorrow so its another full day of jewelry making,cleaning and whatever else comes to my mind.

Hey guys! Just made this new blog for my new store,Forever Yours Jewelry.I've been at work promoting and adding new items to my shop. (: It is an honor to be with all of those wonderful designers who have been in the d.i.y community longer than I have. :]
